Diana D'Amico Pawlewicz is an education researcher with extensive experience leading projects with state organizations, school districts, and foundations. After more than fifteen years in the university, including programmatic leadership and earning promotion to the rank of tenured Full Professor, she brings to Throughline Strategy a record of designing methodologically rigorous research, translating it into solutions that organizations can act on, and making complex findings accessible to policymakers, practitioners, and the public. Trained as a historian of education, Diana brings a distinctive vantage point to her work: the ability to see which of today's challenges are new and which are the latest chapter in a much longer story—and to use that perspective to design more durable solutions.
Diana's research spans K–12 and higher education with work in the areas of teacher policy—professionalization, preparation, shortages, hiring, retention, and representation—equity in education, policy implementation, program evaluation, strategic planning, and the connections between educational institutions and the communities they serve.
She is the author of two books, and her scholarship has appeared in journals including the Harvard Educational Review and American Educational Research Journal. Diana's writing has also reached wider audiences through The Washington Post, Time, and The San Francisco Chronicle. A trusted voice on education, Diana is regularly sought out for podcasts, keynote addresses, education events, and media interviews.
Diana holds a Ph.D. from New York University and is based in Richmond, Virginia.

Andrea Guiden Pittman is an education researcher, strategist, and higher education leader with nearly two decades of experience helping organizations navigate complex challenges and drive meaningful change. She works at the intersection of research, policy, and practice, partnering with education agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, and philanthropic foundations to strengthen systems, inform decision-making, and improve outcomes.
Andrea's expertise spans research and evaluation, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, organizational capacity building, and technical assistance. She has led national studies, supported U.S. Department of Education-sponsored regional comprehensive centers, and collaborated with local, state, and federal partners on initiatives related to educator effectiveness, educational equity, leadership development, and systems improvement.
Across her academic, research, and consulting roles, Andrea is known for translating evidence into action and helping organizations move from ideas to implementation. Her clients and collaborators have included state and local education agencies, federal partners, universities, national nonprofit organizations, and philanthropic leaders, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Teach For America.
Andrea holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy from George Mason University and is based in Washington, D.C.
